Term 4 Meeting
Working with independent bookshops, best sellers for 2024, and predicted book trends for 2025
Join us for the Non-Teaching School Library Staff Special Interest Group Term 4 meeting.
Our Term 4 meeting is scheduled for the 27th November at 3pm, via the SLANSW Zoom Room. The focus of the session is how school libraries can work with independent bookshops, best sellers for 2024, and predicted book trends for 2025. Anna Carles, the Constant Reader’s School Account Manager, will be our guest presenter.
Anna has been working in bookshops since she was 16, starting in her local bookshop in Umina Beach. After many years there, she moved to Sydney and was part of the management team that opened the Harry Hartog store in Macquarie Centre. She has been at Constant Reader since 2017, and has held a number of roles in that time. Currently, she is the School Account Manager, working closely with a range of schools across the greater Sydney region and beyond.
Anna has had a keen interest in Kids’ Lit for her whole career, and was for ten years a member of the Australian Book Seller’s Association expert booksellers group that put out the Kids’ Reading Guide every year. She loves well-written books of every genre, but has a particular soft-spot for eccentric urban fantasy.
We will also have our usual informal catch-up, chat, and share what we have been doing in our libraries in 2024 and what plans we may be contemplating for 2025.
This session will be held on Wednesday 27 November between 3 - 4pm in the SLANSW Zoom Room.
You must register to ensure you are sent the Zoom login details within 24hours before your session.
