Setting up for Success

We invite library staff to participate in our upcoming Online Meet-up, Setting up for Success, a professional learning session focused on practical strategies to effectively begin the new school year. This session aims to help you develop a clear and structured plan, establish priorities, and explore ways to engage your school community for a successful year ahead.

Our presenters, Katherine Garner, Zoe Morse, and Kerrianne Williams, will each bring practical insights and ideas on creating an impactful and supportive library environment that meets the needs of both students and staff.

A key feature of this session is its interactive format. Participants will be encouraged to share their own ideas and strategies through a live document, fostering collaboration and the exchange of useful approaches among peers. This document, along with the session recording, will be made available to all registered participants following the event.

About Katherine Garner - Teacher Librarian, Queanbeyan South Public School

Katherine successfully completed her Master of Education in Teacher Librarianship at Charles Sturt University in 2018. Since then, she has gained valuable experience working as a full-time librarian across four different schools throughout the state. Katherine demonstrates a strong passion for promoting literacy and fostering a love of reading within her school community. She is known for her enthusiasm when discussing books, and her commitment to enhancing students’ engagement with literature reflects this. As a passionate reader, she can easily be distracted into discussing books or any upcoming events at Queanbeyan South PS or at her local library in Goulburn.

About Kerianne Williams - Softlink

Kerianne has master’s degrees (Educational Studies and Librarianship) and a career history ranging from consulting to the classroom. Kerianne brings a wealth of practical insight to her role at Softlink Education. As a former Teacher-Librarian, she is a passionate advocate for LearnPath, focusing on collaborative ways to simplify the lives of educators. When she isn't supporting schools professionally, you’ll find her tutoring on the Gold Coast, staying inspired by the students who started her journey.

About Zoe Morse - Teacher Librarian, Yass High School

Zoe has been the Teacher Librarian at Yass High School since early 2024. She works with students in Years 7–12 to promote reading engagement, enhance information literacy and provide access to diverse learning resources. Collaborating with teachers across all faculties, she designs and delivers library programs aligned with curriculum priorities and tailored to student needs. In addition, she leads the Creative Writing Club and teaches Extension English. Zoe is dedicated to fostering a school-wide culture of reading and immersing students in literary experiences.
