Do you engage with numeracy in your library? If so, we’d love to hear from you!
It would be great if you would share it with your colleagues!
If you answered yes, we encourage you to participate in the SLANSW upcoming Open Online Forum:
The Open Online Forum format is a great platform to share our successes and innovations. However, the success of this format relies heavily on the input of our members, and we would really like to hear from as many members as possible. We encourage all members, including teacher librarians and non-teaching library staff to share your experience, ideas and expertise.
In this meetup format participants become presenters, where individuals or teams submit an idea 2 - 3 PowerPoint slides and have 5 - 7 minutes to speak to the slide before we move on to the next slide/presenter. As a participant, it is not compulsory to be a presenter, however, we do encourage participants who are not presenting to also share their ideas in the chat. This provides a rich text-based record of all ideas shared throughout the session on how school libraries and teacher librarians engage with numeracy.
It’s really easy to contribute as a presenter! Just email 2 – 3 PowerPoint slides in a file (including the Numeracy OOF heading in the subject of your email) to info@slansw.net.au by 5pm on Friday 8th September. Please set your slide size to Widescreen 16:9 and include your name in the bottom right corner of the slide. Please note an effective slide will include a heading that reflects the nature of your idea, and no more than 2-3 bullet points using large font, supported by one or more images. Here is an example –
