In order to achieve its mission, SLANSW will: ​

1. ​Provide a forum for teacher librarians and non-teaching library staff;

2. Promote and strengthen the standing and qualifications of teacher librarians and non-teaching library staff;

3. Advocate on matters relating to the profession;

4. Promote the education and professional learning of teacher librarians and non-teaching library staff;

​5. Promote research to advance the profession; and 

6. Promote quality teaching and learning.
